About
Susan Journeyer is a British illustrator and writer working between folklore, memory, and coastal landscapes. Her work explores quiet places and the people who pass through them – often caught somewhere between the familiar and the uncanny.
Early Work
Susan began her practice documenting coastal towns and tidal spaces, sketching on location and building a visual archive of eroding landmarks, abandoned structures, and shifting shorelines.
Current Practice
Her current work combines ink drawing, digital colour, and written narrative. Projects often evolve slowly over time, with sketchbooks forming the foundation of longer-form publications.
Selected Publications
- The Hollow Tide (Lantern House, 2024)
- Field Notes from the Coast (Self-published, 2023)

Susan is currently working on a new long-form illustrated project exploring memory, erosion, and the idea of places that refuse to stay buried.
